The path to wellness can be challenging at times, but I am here to support you through this process. While there is no “quick fix” to mental health, I believe that with the right medication and the additional support of therapy, you can achieve success in your journey to health and wellness. I am a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who treats children, adolescents, and adults. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and my Master’s degree and PMHNP training from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
I have over a decade of experience in the mental health field. My training and work experience covers a variety of settings from inpatient psychiatric hospitals, non-profit substance abuse clinics, community mental health, private practice, and telehealth. I have provided psychiatric care and consultation to therapeutic boarding schools in Western NC and behavioral health urgent care in Durham, NC.
I consider it a great privilege to assist clients in addressing their challenges by supporting them in reaching their greatest potential and wellness. I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions including brief psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management to treat many conditions including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, trauma, insomnia, and adjustment/life transitions. I have special interest in psychedelic assisted psychotherapy, and have participated in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) training. I am currently receiving additional training in integrative and functional psychiatry through Psychiatry Redefined Fellowship with Dr. James Greenblatt. My approach is integrative and holistic and I take into account each client’s individual strengths, challenges, and unique factors impacting health and wellness.
In my free time I enjoy being outdoors and exploring new places, plants and gardening, painting, and spending time with family and my rescue dog, Vess.
