Seeking treatment for a mental health concern can be anxiety-provoking and overwhelming, and taking steps toward receiving mental health support is something that requires tremendous strength. I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment and to foster collaborative relationships with my clients as they navigate difficult times and move toward their unique goals.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner providing initial psychiatric evaluations and medication management. I understand that a person is much more than a diagnosis. Therefore, I believe that treatment involves treating the whole person, not just an illness. I will partner with you to tailor an individualized treatment plan to address your mental health needs. My professional practice is not only LGBTQIA inclusive; it is also LGBTQIA affirming.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology and Behavior from Cornell University and my Master’s degree in Nursing from Yale University School of Nursing. I have over ten years of experience and have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, crisis stabilization, residential, community-based, hospital, and outpatient drug detox and rehabilitation programs. I work with individuals 18 and older, addressing and treating various psychiatric conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, addiction, psychotic disorders, and sleep issues, among others.
Ultimately, I believe integrative and holistic therapies are vital for our mental health. In addition to discussing medication options, I help my patients optimize their overall health by focusing on many aspects of life-mind, body, spirituality, social connectedness, etc. This holistic approach recognizes that we all have an inherent ability to achieve health and that the focus of treatment should be on addressing barriers to this vs. treating or “curing” a disease. I value the importance of individual and group therapy and will work closely with your therapist to coordinate care or make appropriate therapy referrals as necessary.
Please know I have the utmost respect for the complexities of each individual’s unique mental health care needs and I am dedicated to exceptional patient care. I understand the courage and vulnerability it takes to reach out for help. Wherever you are on your journey, I would be honored to walk with you. I look forward to meeting you!
